About

I’m Ben, a UK/Europe-based dancer. I graduated from the BA (Hons) course at TrinityLaban (London) before going on to complete the training cycle at P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels) and an MA in Creative Practice from Independent Dance & TrinityLaban. Now I work as a freelance performer and teacher, create my own work and occasionally co-choreograph with others.

I’m white, male, cis-gendered, heterosexual and able-bodied. I attempt to work, move and live from these identities as part of a varied, non-hierarchical and inclusive landscape of people and identities. To work towards this politically, professionally and collectively; acknowledging and acting on past and present inequalities and violences that people and collectives of these specific identities are active and complicit in.

I’ve worked regularly as a performer and researcher with Vera Tussing, Charlotte Spencer Projects, Lisa May Thomas, Francesco Scavetta/WEE. I’ve also been in works by Hagit Yakira, Nicola Conibere, Benjamin Pohlig and Sunniva Vikør Egnes, and Leila McMillan.

Alongside dancing I also study Aikido and Kashima No Tachi at Tetsushinkan/Moving East, and enjoy barefoot running and long distance walking.
